I12 years ago in lives in the neighbourhood of this post office and used it often because I could walk from our home. I always felt nervous to do everything wrong, being a young mom with a bunch of little kids it was always a gong show and I figured the man who worked there(owner) just didn't really like kids. Fast forward to now and my kid works at the grocery store in Capri mall so I've used the post office again once or twice. Same guy is still there and still made me feel stupid. Also- they STILL do not accept credit card! Not a fan, 12 years running!
The customer service at this postal outlet is so unacceptable, I felt I had to make a report with Canada Post about their poor treatment of customers. I sent a package Priority Post to this outlet. That is the fastest and most expensive method of delivery with Canada Post. When the recipient of the parcel went to pick it up she was told by 'Donna' who is apparently the supervisor, 'I haven't sorted through the mail on the trolley, can you come back tomorrow!". I confirmed with Canada Post as well as online tracking that the parcel had been delivered to and was available in the Capri Centre postal outlet. It contained time sensitive medication, and while not a life threatening situation, was nevertheless urgently needed. That's the point of paying for Priority post!! This employee had no business withholding a parcel for ANY reason. Her excuse was "there were lots of customers waiting and I was busy and I'm doing the best I can". Not good enough!!! Their staffing issues are not the public's problem! The practices in the postal outlet need investigating.
After reading the many poor reviews of this post office, I had to find out the truth for myself. My experience differs from that of other patrons. It truly doesn't deserve the reputation it has.Partly due to my inability to read a map, I was unable to find the post office. After 20 minutes of wandering the plaza like a terrified panda bear, I was brought to tears by a sign pointing me towards the post office.Greeting me with dead-eyes and a forced smile was a grizzled gentleman who looked as if he could have fought in WW2. His calm demeanour made me feel at home in that small post office. He called out, "what can I do ya 4?" and before I knew it I was out the door with a receipt in my hand. This post office is fantastic, truly one of my top 10 in Kelowna.
Very small outlet. But everything you need to access post is there. Very friendly and helpfull staff. The business front also offers watch repair. Artisan pieces and a small selection of snacks and drinks. Ive visited this location several times and at different times of the year. Has never been too busy in terms of wait time.
I'm only giving two stars instead of one because I've had decent experiences the last couple times I've been helped. Usually, there is a grumpy old man working there who obviously hates his job and people in general. I've never dealt with a rude woman there, and instead been greeted nicely the last two times and they've even given my daughter a candy while waiting. I hope this means things are improving here, as it's close to home for picking up packages. I can also echo another persons review about them not answering their phone, I've been trying to call for an hour now and no one wants to answer. Please continue to make your post office more friendly and improve service quality as well.
